Pictures of the Week 2008-2
Hello All,
We recently flew from Orlando to San Diego, CA where we met up with other family members who flew in from Anchorage, AK. We all had booked a cruise on Holland America from San Diego into various ports of call in Mexico.
Since we arrived a couple of days before our sailing date we decided to spend a day at the San Diego Zoo. This is one of the premier zoos in the world and it is always fun to visit. During the winter months the zoo opens at 9 am and closes at 4:30 pm. Would you believe we were there when it opened and strolled out at closing time.
It was exciting seeing all the animals--many of which we had never seen before. Mandrills, Meer Kats, and Giant Pandas to name a few. There we beautiful Flamingos,

It was exciting seeing all the animals--many of which we had never seen before. Mandrills, Meer Kats, and Giant Pandas to name a few. There we beautiful Flamingos,
and Warthogs that were so ugly
that only a mother could love!!
However, we probably had the
most fun photographing the Lowland Gorillas. There was the big “Silver Back”
who was definitely in charge.
But, we got the biggest kick
out of watching one of the females eat bamboo. She was so animated that we just
kept snapping photo after photo of her. Some of her facial expressions just
made you laugh out loud!! It was a wonderful experience.
More on the cruise later.
Until next time,
