2015-11 Wine Country & Japanese Tea Garden, California
Hello All,
Our next adventure was into the beautiful wine country of Napa-Sonoma, California. Having experienced the wine tasting at many of the wineries in the past we chose to stick to the scenic beauty of the area this time. We find the rolling hills with manicured vineyards to be lovely.

Without a doubt the wineries in the area are quite spectacular and beautifully landscaped. Isn’t it amazing what a little bottle of “vino” can reap!
We then drove through the rolling hills of the area. In our eyes we find them to be awesome! Can’t you imagine how rewarding it would be on horseback. The crest of every hill would bring another amazing vista.
Golden Gate Park on the south side of San Francisco Bay was next on our list of places to explore. It is a nice park, but very crowded, which is to be expected in the city. It is a nice respite for the city folks.
A popular feature within Golden Gate Park is the Japanese Tea Garden. It was built in 1894 as part of the World’s Fair.
We found it to be beautiful but difficult to photograph due to the crowds of folks. We really had to work to get the photos we wanted to capture, but we think we came up with some good ones.

The blending of colors, different types of foliage, combined with water features and winding paths makes it visually soothing to the mind. If you ever want to unwind from the stresses of life, a Japanese Tea Garden is an excellent choice.
It is easy to become lost in the sheer beauty of it all. We find it to be so very relaxing. You can sit on a bench and meditate without a care in the world.
Wisteria was in bloom along the paths as we strolled through the garden.
By using a variety of foliage the gardeners create many different pallets of color. And, around each curve of the path it all changes as if looking in a kaleidoscope of Mother Nature.
Then they throw ponds and streams into the mix with patches of flowers here and there for a splash of color.
And of course the water features have Japanese Koi in them to add to the ambiance of it all. In our minds it was a masterful work of art.
We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon at the gardens. It is truly a magical place.
We will continue our trek down the California coastline in our next little blurb. Geographically known as the Cabrillo Coast, the article will feature Pigeon Point Light Station and the scenic communities of Pacific Grove and Pebble Beach. We certainly hope to have you riding with us for this adventure.
Until next time,
